The first Technical and Financial Report of the BioEnergyTrain Project has been submitted to the European Commission. It reports on all the work performed and achievements that have been reached in the first 15 months of the project. An additional review meeting with the European Commission was held on the 27th of September, which went successful.
One of the main achievements in the first reporting period is the development of the curricula. The framework of the curricula has been established. A draft of the BioRefinery Engineering Curriculum at the TU Graz and a draft of the Bioresource Value-chain Manager to be implemented as a track of the Sustainable Energy Technology (SET) Master Program at UTwente have been established. Furthermore, two Professional Educational Formats have been implemented: the Student Camp at RIC – BRP Powertrain in Austria from 7-11 March 2016 and the International Summer School at LNEG in Portugal from 18-29 July 2016. In addition, the BET Consortium organized many outreach events and performed personal interviews and other activities to involve industrial and regional stakeholders in the BioEnergyTrain Project. These also include the first BioEnergyTrain Conference and the Buying-in event, both organized by eseia in Graz on 5 April 2016.
In the upcoming months the BET Consortium will intensify efforts to promote both the BioRefinery Engineer and the Bio-resource Value-Chain Manager master programmes to attract the best students world-wide for the first academic year 2017/18.
